Tempered With Sweet Airs

Violet marks the skin’s desecration,
blossom blots out brightness. A bruised
significant eyelid, under lightweight glass.
Whose eye, museumed in venery?
On the curator’s desk, silver box
and velvet blotter, an amber globe
baubling an ancient female grape.
